Overview
The authors describe the idea of "Tsunagari", a Japanese word that means to tie together through communication. They believe that modern always-connected networks can allow for technology mediated Tsunagari. They developed a "family planter system" that consists of a presence and motion detector that translates into light and rotation in a connected planter.
Reflection
The planter project is so similar to other projects like the 6th Sense Lamps that it doesn't add anything to my research ideas and I don't plan on plotting it in my model. However, the concept of Tsunagari is interesting and I need to look more into it. Whenever a language has a single word that denotes a concept you're studying it's always good to learn more.
